The young people’s part of the Academy has been dedicated to Fernando Balestra, who relaunched it in 2010 and was one of its most passionate supporters.
The school is divided into four sections; Junior, Spring, Advanced spring and Senior, giving children from 6 years old and adults the possibility of taking their first steps in the world of theatre to discover an art that has always had an immense capacity to make us think about the world and ourselves.

The Junior course (5-10 years ) is designed principally to train the perceptive, relational and expressive capacities of the child, and to stimulate the “pleasure of reading”, writing and narration. The first phase of work consists in group activities and games, self-control and expressivity, rituality and social rules for collective participation, active listening, attention and relations, discovery and awareness of one’s personal expressive means (word, body, voice). The second phase is about closer thematic examination of reading, rewriting, and scenic re-elaboration. Through “play theatre” the children discover, strengthen and become aware of their own expressive means (linguistic, corporeal and musical), their writing, reading, choreographic, singing and acting abilities.
The Primavera course (11-19 years) is designed for young people who want to discover and improve their expressive skills, experiment with effective ways for relating and working in a group, acquiring basic elements of theatrical technique (acting, use of the voice, diction, movement of stage and choreography, singing, reading, analysis and interpretation of a text), improving their cultural, relational and linguistic competencies. During the academic year, seminaries and workshops are held periodically with actors, dancers, and musicians on the international scene. The course offers a solid basic preparation for young people who, after their diploma, want to try to get a place on the courses in professional training for actors organised by the Accademia of INDA or other prestigious national theatre schools.
This course for adults is principally dedicated to the acquisition of correct techniques of usage for the voice, diction and public speaking. The objective is to provide techniques and skills that can be used in the workplace and in personal situations. The course meets once a week with professional actors/teachers from the Accademia. The theatrical exercises (from improvisation to text interpretation) become a pleasant and entertaining way to experiment and exercise control over one’s personal expressive means in situations of emotional impact, to achieve the conscious management of one’s gestures and space, to increase one’s expressivity when reading out loud and one’s assertiveness when speaking in public.
