PLOT
Two old men, Pisetero and Evelpide, flee Athens because they are disgusted by their fellow citizens’ senseless obsession with trials, and set out in search of a utopian place where they can live in peace and spend their old age. During their search, they encounter Upupa: he was once a man (Tereo), and to the two of them, he is the bird best suited to know whether there is a city where one can live in peace.
