The resumption of classical plays at the Greek Theatre in Syracuse after the Great War and the Spanish epidemic
Syracuse
Greek Palace
from 10 May 2025
Inaugurated on the centenary of the resumption of classical performances at the Greek Theatre of Syracuse, after the interruption caused by the Great War and the Spanish fever epidemic, this exhibition recounts the birth of the INDA, the patrons who were at its origin, and the first staging of Aeschylus’ Oresteia, in 1921, through the photographs of Angelo Maltese.
Thanks to generative artificial intelligence, the use of video game software, and the use of virtual and augmented reality, the new interactive layout of INDA’s permanent exhibition projects the memory of ancient drama into the future, offering the public the chance to immerse themselves in the past and relive it with new eyes.
